Description
‘Watery, porous and deliciously strange, HYDRA is experimental poetry of the very highest quality – ripping language open, and transforming what it is capable of. Molly Pearson’s writing is tender, virulent, exact and potent. This collection vibrates with boundary-shifting potential.’
Read the poem ‘Tanqueray 10’ from the collection below:
somewhere between sex and going
steady I fished the final ice
cube from my glass and placed it on
your skin still leaking juniper
and it didn’t touch it was enough
for us to watch that
slow collapse of form entirely
seperate wet extensions trailing
down your side of the mattress
damp with it and joy
though there was a mouthful of
tonic left in your glass
the grapefruit ragged
with constant
friction
